Today I was arguing with a liberal friend of mine over Israel's reaction to the kidnappings and the resulting war. Being the liberal that he is, he believes that Israel is wrong, the Lebanese are the victims, and Hezbollah has a just reason to be doing what they are doing. I made the classic point that if Canada or Mexico were to fire a rocket into the USA, we would have no problem "owning" their ass. As a conservative, I can't think of a better example. It makes a good point and it brings the argument down to the level where even a knee-jerk liberal and relate; or at least I thought. I consider myself to be fairly open to views, but his response made me say something like: "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? See this is why I would be terrified if Kerry would have won..." (You get the idea.) So what did he say? Let's take it back. Let's roll back time. "Can you imagine what would happen if say Canada were to shoot a few missiles at the US? We would tear them apart!", I said. His reaction: "Well I would think that two missiles would justify talking to them, not a 'shock and awe' disproportionate reaction." This displays two things: liberals unwilling to have balls, and liberals regurgitating liberal talking points. I believe you know my reaction :-)
